Yep, the code patch version is older, the main changes between them? game mechanics and content adding mod friendly tweaks. Are you implying said overhaul has malware or attempts to steal data? UAC messes with a lot of programs, not just third party ones, and while I wouldn't recommend someone have it permanently off, there are situations it needs to be turned off for, so unless you have reason to prove a "warning" is needed in this case, it's uneccesary.

Yes, yes, I must be ignorant of how to secure my PC because I decided to allow a third party program to install something and UAC is the ultimate in security and there's no possible way to defeat it should one choose to. The code patch, unofficial patch and MGE XE doesnt change the graphics and alter the gameplay like the overhaul does, not to mention the overhaul also known to cause the game to CTD alot (i know thats gonna happen sooner or later, but defiantely not as often as the overhaul)īut hey, if you want to disable your security and let a third party excexutable control your pc, go right ahead, just dont say i didnt warn you. its easy enough to install them manually, nexus mod manager and the overhaul are more trouble than their worth. OP wants lore friendly, well your not gonna get any more lore friendly and stability than the 3 patches i mentioned. if this if your first time in morrowind, its best to just enjoy as much vanilla as you can until your ready to start a new game with the overhaul if you want. Wasn't trying to imply it didn't, just easy to manage anything additional and for other games too with nexus. You just need UAC disabled for the duration because it scripts direct mouse movements and keyboard shortcuts to run the other programs/mod installers and UAC popups will crash it.

The sound and graphics overhaul timofan linked to includes all of those mods and has an option to do everything automatically and set it up. MGE XE goes directly in the morrowind folder as well, just run that from there and choose your settings, once done, close the window and run morrowind. The the code patch has its executable and other files that get extracted directly in the morrowind folder, then you just run the code patch from there, select your options and click apply patch at the bottom of that window. Going off memory, the unofficial patch goes in the data folder of morrowind and you just need to enable the esp file from the morrowind launcher. It is not yet finished so you may run into empty places with out npc on the new lands, but imo it is still worth it, especially when combined with Morrowind Rebirth (third link) Just a note with the last mod linked (Tamriel Rebuilt).
